Premium Wood Chair Mats have rounded (ie, gently sloped) edges to make the transition more gradual between the floor and the mat (so if you happen to roll off, it's easier to roll right back on the mat).
Do I need to buy special chair wheels so the wood doesn't get scratched when rolling on the mat?

Although you do not need to buy special chair wheels (casters) for use on this (or any of our) chair mats, hard ball casters and metal casters cannot be used because they are notorious for becoming gouged and then causing damage to the mat/floor below. The best type of caster are soft, dual wheels or FLōW® Desk Chair Casters.

Premium Wood Chair Mats do not have a specified weight limit but are rated up to 400lbs (for both the individual and chair combined).
How long do custom wood chair mats take to make?

Before manufacturing any custom Premium Wood Chair Mats a sign-off drawing is made and emailed for approval. The drawing typically takes a day or less and the actual production time is typically a week before shipping out. Wood chair mats can be made in virtually any size or shape up to 4' x 8' in one solid piece. (Larger mats can be made by linking two mats together.)
Do I need a lip? I see you offer chair mats both with and without a lip.

A chair mat with a lip is needed when the knee opening is small (typically due to the legs of the desk being drawers). However, as long as there is ample room to slide the entire width of the chair mat under the desk so that you can comfortably roll around without falling off the mat when scooted all the way in, the lip is unnecessary.
